There are traditional household items and personal souvenirs. The house was donated by the family to the Royal Academy of Galicia The museum is in the old house of Countess Emilia Pardo Bazán (A Coruña 1851-Madrid 1921). It shares the building with the Royal Academy of Galicia. The house museum presents the writer in her own times and her own space, with reproductions of some rooms. it is a typical 19th century city stately home with the original furniture and household items and an exhibition of Emilia Pardo Bazán's artistic production and the works of art she lived among. The visit is dynamic and offers different activities according to the kind of visitor, to bring them closer to the work and person of Emilia Pardo Bazán. She grew up in Carballiño but her home town was always a reference point. The house on Calle Tabernas was donated to the Royal Academy by her family. As soon as visitors go in they are taken back in time to the house when the writer lived there. Family souvenirs and photographs are conserved intact. Emilia Pardo Bazán was a great literary figure, both as a writer and collaborator in numerous projects related to the culture of Galicia. We could highlight her independent feminist spirit. Her best known works are Los Pazos de Ulloa and La Madre Naturaleza. She wrote 41 novels, 7 plays, 2 cookery books, over 580 short stories and hundreds of essays. She was incredibly active (we could almost say she took part in one way or another in every public event during her lifetime).
