Santiago Church
This is the oldest church in A Coruña. Built in the 12th century in Romanesque style, it was remodelled in Gothic style. The outstanding features of the façade are the brackets with grotesque figures.
This Romanesque sanctuary from 1217 is located in the old town of A Coruña. Its Xacobean dedication can be seen in almost all the motives present in its decoration, like the three semi-columns carved with motives of the Way of St. James, the tympanum with the figure of the Apostle on horseback or his appearance in the doorjambs next to Saint John the Evangelist. This temple, along with the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria del Campo (13th-15th centuries) and with Santo Domingos (of Galician Baroque style, 18th century) are part of the town centre’s rich religious architecture
